Shootout at Wadala

Shootout at Wadala is a 2013 Indian actioncrime film written and directed by Sanjay Gupta. It is a sequel to the 2007 hit Shootout at Lokhandwala, and it is the second instalment of the Shootout Film Series. It is loosely based on the book Dongri to Dubai by Hussain Zaidi. The film features John AbrahamAnil KapoorKangana RanautTusshar KapoorManoj Bajpayee and Sonu Sood in lead roles. The film dramatises the encounter by Mumbai police in which gangster Manya Surve was shot dead. It took place at the junction adjacent to Dr. Ambedkar college, WadalaMumbai on 11 January 1982.
The film was slated to be released on 1 May 2013, but was released on 3 May instead, to coincide with the day that marked 100 years of Bollywood. The film released to mixed reviews from critics, and according to Box Office India, emerged as a "hit" at the box office.

Jolly LLB

Jolly LLB is a 2013 Indian Hindi courtroomblack comedy-drama film, written and directed by Subhash Kapoor. The film stars Arshad WarsiBoman Irani and Amrita Rao in the lead roles. The theatrical trailer was revealed on 8 January 2013.[2] Released on 15 March 2013, the film revolves around the early life of lawyer Jagdish Tyagi a.k.a. Jolly (played by Warsi) and focuses on his attempt to earn six innocent wage earners their rights and his journey against the monopolistic behavior of the rich and judicial corruption. The storyline is inspired by the 1999 hit-and-run case of Sanjeev Nanda and a minor reference to Priyadarshini Mattoo case.[3]


The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi, while Saurabh Shukla won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor.[4] The film has been remade into Tamil as Manithan. A sequel Jolly LLB 2 was released in February 2017.[5]
